Sweet, sugar-free simple syrup using pure stevia extract is a delicious treat for cocktails, mocktails, smoothies and more! Easy and ready in just minutes, this small batch simple syrup will be your new favorite sugar-free alternative.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups water filtered, if possible
  • ½ teaspoon stevia pure stevia extract
  • 1 teaspoon arrowroot powder optional, for thickening

Method
 

  1. Simmer water in small saucepan.
    1 ½ cups water
  2. Boiling water in an electric kettle first will speed up the process of bringing the water to a simmer once in the saucepan.
  3. Stir in stevia extract until dissolved.
    ½ teaspoon stevia
  4. Create a slurry with arrowroot powder and a small amount of water before stirring into the saucepan.
    1 teaspoon arrowroot powder
  5. The slurry will help prevent the arrowroot powder from clumping when added to the hot water.
  6. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the liquid turns clear or very slightly cloudy.

  7. Remove from heat and allow to cool before transferring to an airtight container.

Pure stevia extract powder has zero calories. Any kcals in the recipe come from arrowroot powder.
