Homemade roasted pecan butter is easy to make and packed with rich, buttery flavor. Nutty pecans are briefly roasted to perfection before being blended into a creamy, spreadable butter with a hint of natural sweetness.

  • 2 cups pecans 227g, organic preferred
  • pinch salt kosher or sea salt

  1. Add pecans to a skillet over medium heat, stirring frequently for 5-10 minutes. Remove from heat when they become fragrant and lightly toasted. Cool briefly.

  2. To the bowl of your food processor fitted with an s-blade, add the roasted pecans and blend for several minutes. The pecans will go through a few stages as they break down.

  3. Once pecans turn to a paste and are getting creamier, pause the food processor to scrape down the sides.
  4. When creamy, add the pinch of salt and briefly blend to incorporate before transferring to your storage container.

Notes

Use fresh, good-quality pecans for the best results. 
Blend time will vary depending on your appliance. If you're familiar with blending peanuts for peanut butter, you should find pecans blend much faster.
Pecan halves, pieces, or a combination of both will work in this recipe. 
This recipe makes between ¾ and 1 cup of pecan butter. The listed serving size is 2 tablespoons.
