Avocado Seed Powder

Avocado seeds are a food scrap packed with nutrients perfect for your plants! A great source of potassium, phosphorus, and calcium (to name a few), grinding the avocado seed to a powder gives you a natural fertilizer to add as a boost for your garden!

Ingredients
  

  • 4 avocado seeds

Equipment

  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 cutting board
  • 1 knife
  • 1 spice grinder
  • 1 Oven or dehydrator
  • 1 air tight storage container

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 225 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Add your clean and dry avocado seeds to a baking sheet and place on the center rack of your oven for 2 hours, or until the outer skin starts to blister away from the pit.

  3. Remove and allow to cool so you can safely handle the seeds.
  4. Using a large knife, carefully slice the avocado seed into smaller pieces.
  5. Grind the pieces in a blender or spice grinder until a powder forms. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

I didn't include nutrition information to avoid confusion about human consumption. 
4 seeds will make about ½ cup of powder.
