Coffee with a Kick
Take your regular morning cup 'o joe up a notch with a little addition. This idea is non-alcoholic, but I'm not judging if you had something else in mind. Here, I'm adding a little (literally, a drop) of pecan flavoring to my regular cup of coffee. The coffee beans should not be flavored, unless it is a specific flavor that compliments your additive. I like to work with a blank canvass, and am really enjoying this twist.
Would you like to save this?
I'm using Bickford Flavors from the Tennessee Valley Pecan Company. You might enjoy other flavors, like peppermint. Just be sure that you use a drop or two...more than that will overwhelm the flavor structure of your java.
Since a little goes a long way, and pecan flavoring can be used in many different recipes, this is a cost effective way to make the holidays fun. You don't need to wait to host guests to use this -- treat yourself as you sit down to write Christmas cards, or prepping for a day of caffeine-fueled shopping. Pecans are practically synonymous with the holidays, so feel free to let it take center stage in new and unique ways!
